Javelin Ventures


Javelin Ventures is a UK based venture capital fun, it operates a biotechnology focused fund called Heptagon Fund with 7 partners which include UK’s most reputable medical colleges, which include Queen Mary, University of London, King’s College London University of Kent, The Royal Veterinary College, The School of Pharmacy, and St George’s Hospital Medical School.


The Heptagon Fund provides proof of concept funding for its seven partners for new technologies in life sciences and healthcare. The Fund addresses the translation of novel and inventive ideas from fundamental research to commercial demonstration, leading to soundly based propositions able to attract licensing deals or investment funding. 


VI Partners


VI Partners is a Swiss venture capital firm that supports university spin-off's as well as other promising start-up companies with capital, coaching, consulting and networks. 


Via its current "Venture Incubator" fund VI Partners invests "Smart Money" to develop promising technology-based ideas for products and services into successful businesses. 


Venture Incubator was established by McKinsey & Company and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETHZ), and started operations in 2001. It now manages an investment fund of CHF 101 million.


Its life science portfolio include various companies at different stages, Activaero is the global technology leader in controlled breathing technologies for inhaled therapeutics. CeQur, CeQur is a spin off of Danfoss Bionics and develops fast acting insulin “dumb pumps”. Edimer is a biotech company based in Epalinges (VD and Boston (US) focusing on the development of innovative therapeutics for rare diseases.


Forbion Capital Partners


The Forbion team is specialized in the evaluation of late stage preclinical / early stage clinical development programs. It focuses on companies that have innovative technologies and drug development programs with unique advantages over current treatments. 


It invests in medical device companies with a focus on interventional cardiology and gastroenterology.  


Current portfolio includes companies in various stages including: Amakem (European company), a platform company focusing on ophthalmology and is developing new treatments for serious eye conditions. Argos (US company) – which develops treatment of metastatic cancers and chronic infections using a proprietary platform technology, involving stimulating immune cells with messenger RNA. 


Forbion Capital Partners is a global investor, with its portfolio consisting American, Canadian and European (including UK) companies.
